Focusing on ten crucial days that changed the course of the American Revolution, the Washington’s Crossing Leadership Experience explores the leadership decisions and actions of the Battles of Trenton and Princeton in December 1776 and January 1777.
Case studies explore the challenges facing Continental leadership in the early phases of the war for American independence. Leadership and technical aspects of the Christmas Eve nighttime crossing of the flood-swollen Delaware River and General Washington’s actions to ensure victory against overwhelming odds are key aspects of the program. The program also explores British leaders’ underestimation of the competition, lack of initiative, and inability to align behind a commonly shared vision.
